Hina Matsuri at Teahouse
Hinamatsuri is a Japanese traditional celebration, originating as the day to celebrate the growth of the family's daughters and to wish for the family's prosperity, by setting up the Hina dolls to appreciate the beauty of these traditional Japanese dolls at the beginning of the spring season, thankful to have passed another year with good health, overcoming all obstacles. |
絆 Virtual JASI Member GatheringThis virtual gathering is for all JASI Members to do and talk something fun and engaging while get to know each other. We’d like to encourage you to have a pint of your favorite brew; whether that beverage is tea, beer or wine. If you’d like some snacks, too? Sure you can!! |
除夜の鐘 JASI 2019 Bell TollingRinging the temple bell is perceived as a symbol to finish the old year and welcome the new one. At midnight on December 31st, no matter where you are in Japan, you will hear the “joyanokane” (除夜の鐘), the ringing of a temple or shrine bell 108 times, to symbolize the purification from the 108 delusions and sufferings accumulated in the past year. |
